A delightful shohin bonsai with real character — this Ligustrum sinense (Chinese Privet) has been growing for 5+ years from a cutting and has been in active clip-and-grow bonsai training since 2026. At just 10 cm, the graceful S-curve trunk is well-developed with good taper, topped by a compact, leafy canopy of glossy small privet leaves.
Chinese Privet is an excellent bonsai subject — vigorous, forgiving, and responsive to clip-and-grow technique. Planted in a handmade NZ ceramic pot by Jan — a soft teal-green round form with a natural drip glaze finish. A beautiful pairing of tree and pot.
